Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

This protected area is located in the Southwestern Uganda occupying an area of about 38.6 sq km. It is part of a chain of six extinct and three sporadically active volcanoes of the Virungas that follows the boarders with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, home of Mountain Gorillas. The park supports a diversity of fauna and flora mainly golden monkeys, about 12 species of birds and a small number of elephants, leopards and buffaloes.
